Resume and Intent
Submit the resume you have today and three lines you intend to be able to write on it by spring week 10, each tied to work this project will require of you. An instructor then meets you and a small group of classmates by week 5 to test the lines: are they specific, are they yours, does the plan produce them?
Written now, the lines steer a year of work toward things an interviewer can ask you about.
What You Must Produce (one PDF and one text box, in Canvas)
Section titled “What You Must Produce (one PDF and one text box, in Canvas)”- Your current resume, as a PDF. Whatever state it is in; it is not graded on quality.
- Three intent lines, in the Canvas text box. Each names the resume line you intend to write by spring week 10 and the project work that will earn it: “By spring week 10 my resume says: … It will be true because: …”. A technology alone (“learned React”) is not project work; name the thing you will have built, shipped, measured, or run.
- Your resume meeting with an instructor, by week 5; check Canvas for your slot. Bring the three lines; you leave with them sharper or replaced. There is no written feedback; the meeting is the feedback. If you cannot make your slot, tell the instructor before it and you will be rescheduled.
Keep a copy of what you submit. The spring retrospective asks what happened to each line, and the fall course in Canvas closes before then.
Rubric (100 points)

Grading notes, in rubric order:
- Resume: any readable PDF that is a resume passes.
- Intent lines: three lines, each with both halves. A line missing either half, naming only a technology, or describing the project rather than your part in it fails the criterion.
- Meeting: the instructor’s attendance record. A slot rescheduled before it was missed passes.
AI use: Using a model to tighten resume wording or to test whether an intent line is specific is fine. Letting it write the lines from the project description is not: lines that describe the project instead of your part in it fail the criterion, and in spring you will have to show they came true.
